In 2019, Deron and Anne moved into their gorgeous newly built house overlooking the St. Croix River. They wanted to share their beautiful home with others and volunteered to participate in the Hudson Christmas Tour of Homes. Local retailers turned their home into a Christmas wonderland. Deron and Anne hosted over 3,000 tourists during the Christmas Tour. The Hudson Chamber of Commerce put together videos and photos of the tour.
A year later, a filming company contacted the Hudson Chamber to review videos and photos for a movie they wanted to film in the area. As a result, the movie producer selected Deron and Anne’s home to be featured in a movie called, A Christmas Wish in Hudson, a Hallmark style holiday romance that was purchased by Roku for streaming.
The filming took place during the COVID 19 Pandemic, and the producers only allowed crew members and actors on the movie set. The filming company put the homeowners up in a hotel for three days so they could get film footage at the house. Afterwards,
Anne recalled, “It was super fun to be part of it. It was so much fun to watch the movie when it came out and see which parts of our house they used. My daughter was thrilled to see they used one of her photo albums as a prop!”
There was no snow on the ground during the filming, so the film crew painted fake snow on the windows of their home, which required a professional window cleaning afterwards. Deron and Anne contacted the Western Wisconsin Squeegee Squad who also cleaned the windows at their previous home. The window cleaners thoroughly cleaned all their windows so they could get the stunning view of the St. Croix River back!
Anne reported, “Squeegee Squad did a great job. They were quick, efficient, and picked up after themselves. The guys were all great. What I love now is that they proactively reach out to plan my next cleaning so I don’t have to look for their number or wonder when I can get them to come again.”
