The holiday season looks a bit different this year compared to others, but with a bit of and thought, we can make this a memorable experience regardless of what 2020 throws our way. One of the highlights of many family’s holiday seasons is driving around looking at holiday lighting displays. Several communities have come together to do contests, and some businesses have chosen to put together an epic display for you to drive through and experience. If these displays leave you feeling inspired, reach out to our holiday lighting crews to make your holiday dreams come true!
Holiday Lighting Displays You Must See
Minnesota’s newest holiday light experience and must-see holiday attraction at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds this winter. The Great Minnesota Holiday Get-Together is a one-mile drive-thru with a dozen stops featuring over a million holiday lights, illuminated trees, icicle and art installations, a festive gingerbread house, plus a State Fair food court finale!
Socially Safe DRIVE-THRU ANIMATED LIGHT SHOW
Drive through millions of lights perfectly synchronized to holiday music you’ll hear right through your radio. Drive-by giant candy canes, snowmen, arched pathways, and more. Take your time enjoying this lighting extravaganza – we won’t judge you if you join the kids with your face pressed against the window!
Nature Illuminated
This winter, there’s a magical world waiting for you at the Minnesota Zoo. Join us for Nature Illuminated: a one-of-a-kind drive-thru experience featuring stunning light work and larger-than-life animal art installations. Nature Illuminated invites you on a spectacular journey into a world of art, awe, and light, all from the comfort of your own vehicle. Join us as we shine the spotlight on some of the world’s most endearing and endangered animals, and learn how our collective actions can help save our planet’s wildlife.
Thank you for your support of the Minnesota Zoo and our mission to connect people, animals, and the natural world to save wildlife.
The Lineup – the Bentleyville line can get very long, very fast (especially on Fridays and Saturdays). If you are planning on driving to Bentleyville and returning home on the same evening, we strongly encourage you to visit Sunday-Thursday for the best experience.
We also recommend getting dinner prior to getting into line and eating while you wait. You can find a great selection of restaurants here. Another great idea to help pass the time, watch your favorite Christmas movie on a tablet or a laptop! (Drivers – please stay attentive to the line moving)
On the Tour – While traveling the tour route, tune your radio to station 91.7 FM to hear wonderful holiday music that our 128 ft LED tree dances to! You’ll hear some of your old favorites as well as a mix of new tunes.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in attendance, along with some special elves to assist in giving out hats to all the good children who visit! When you enter the park, you will be given a card indicating the number of children 10 and under who are in the vehicle. Each child 10 and under will receive a new knit hat and bag of cookies! (Stay left at the fork to see Santa!)
